Check out some of Buffalo's famous weather events, some pictures of my yard and the dogs we've had through the years.

This was quite a nasty snowstorm that kept us socked in for several days.

  • December 26
After a taste of snow for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, the real thing started falling on December 26th. CNN and the Weather Channel reported our area as "paralyzed" after the snow on 12/24 & 12/25.

These are pictures of my back yard taken while the snow is still coming down. The flakes were huge.
  • December 26
This picnic table is the only shelter for my dog when she's outside. We try to keep it cleared out for her so she can sit underneath.
  • December 27
December 27th and it's still coming down in buckets. This is the scene from my front door.
  • December 27
More of the same. The 2 stakes in the driveway are for our plow service which hasn't shown up yet.
  • December 27
We have dug out the dog shelter one more time.
  • December 27
She doesn't seem too happy with her surroundings.
  • December 28 - The Buffalo News
We are starting to lose our sense of humor and we are getting on each other's nerves.
  • December 28
Looks like we won't be using our deck anytime soon.
  • December 28
There is a car under there & we are still waiting for our plow service.
  • December 28
The snow has finally stopped falling.
  • December 28
People and cars are starting to appear. We're still waiting for the plow service.
  • December 28 - Digging Out
It looks like the plow service isn't showing up any time soon, so we went out to at least clear a path.
  • December 28
Poor Dog! No need for a leash, where would she go?
  • December 28
Maybe the plow service can't see the stakes. That must be why they're not here yet.
  • December 28
The dog has had enough and heads back inside.
  • December 28 - 10 pm - Free at Last!
Finally, the plow! I guess either he got lost, or the 2 messages on his answering machine and 2 faxes helped. Anyway - we were glad to see him.
  • December 28
    Finally Dug Out !!!
  • December 29 - are we having fun yet?
I certainly hope we're done for a while. The National Guard has come to haul the snow away. I think they're dumping it in the Niagara River.
  • December 29
Look, you can see the street again. We bounce back pretty quick here. We were out this afternoon, and all the roads were plowed and down to dry pavement.
  • December 29
My husband shoveled the 2 feet of snow off the grill and is cooking our dinner out there. We survived!

This nasty storm surprised us and effected most of Western New York. Trees & wires came down. Roads were closed and we went without power for 10 very long days.

  • October 12, 2006 - so strange to still see flowers & lawn furniture with this snow
  • October 12, 2006 - We have lost our power

  • I can't believe the glass table survived all this. Looky, the flowers are blooming again.
  • We lost one of our arborvitaes back by the pool.
  • Finally, the big cleanup

Ralph, Hoppy & Molly have added so much to our lives.

I love planting my annuals every summer. They really brighten up the yard.

Some pictures of our backyard pool.
